Yarn store alert!
I was wanting to go out hunting for yarn, and I found a yarn store kind of nearby! This cozy hole-in-the-wall yarn shop is called The Shivering Sheep (cute name!) and is located in Abilene, KS.
The lady was nice, and asked if I knit or crochet, and asked what I usually make. I asked how long the shop had been open — she said 10 years! Awesome! She also told me they have a group that gets together Thursday evenings at the shop. She gave me a business card, and invited me to bring along a project I’m working on, and join them. (On the card she gave me it says “knit night”, but I assume there are probably crocheters. If not, I wouldn’t mind being the only one.)
I didn’t find any yarn I wanted to purchase (GASP!!!), but I was eyeballing some spindles. I did see this lotion bar in a tin that I decided to buy. It’s nice. It has a very light almond scent. I don’t usually like lotions or scented anything, but the scent is barely noticeable, and the lotion soaks in quickly in dry areas. (My hands don’t usually get too dry, so it didn’t soak in very well, but once I wiped my hands off, they were super soft!)
So that was nice. If you’re ever in the area, go check it out!
It’s located at 308 N. Buckeye Ave in Abilene, KS.
The hours are:
Monday - Tuesday: Closed
Thursday: 10:00-9 (Knit Night)
